Baker & McKenzie Elects 3 New Tax Partners in North America

Baker & McKenzie announced today the election of nine (9) new partners in North America, bringing the total number of partners in the region to 347. The elections were effective as of January 1, 2011 and include two tax partners:

Kendra M. Massumi is a partner in the Houston office and a member of the Tax Practice Group. She helps US-based multinational corporations plan and implement tax-efficient supply chain and financing structures, restructure intellectual property ownership and price intercompany transactions, as well as advises taxpayers on federal income tax controversies and the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Massumi received her JD, with honors, from the University of Texas and BS in Accounting, summa cum laude, from Louisiana State University.

Robert H. Moore is a partner in the Miami office and a member of the Tax Practice Group. Mr. Moore’s practice is focused primarily in the areas of international tax planning (both outbound and inbound planning), tax controversy and international wealth management. He has written and co-authored various internal and external articles for a variety of publications, including Tax News and Developments and Tax Planning International Review. He received his JD from Southern Methodist University, LLM from the University of Florida and BA from Duke University.

Jaclyn Pampel is a partner in the Chicago office and a member of the Tax Practice Group. Ms. Pampel advises clients on all stages of tax controversies – from developing strategies for negotiating with the IRS during an audit to contesting IRS determinations in court and administrative hearings. She assists individuals and companies with significant intellectual property, as well as regularly lectures in transfer pricing and federal tax controversy issues for The Tax Executives Institute and other organizations. Ms. Pampel received her JD, Order of the Coif, from Emory University School of Law, and BA and BS from Valparaiso University.
