KPMG UK appoints Neil Henderson as tax director

 In EY, KPMG

KPMG in the UK has boosted its tax accounting team with the appointment of Neil Henderson as a director in its London office.

In his role at KPMG, Neil will be responsible for providing specialist input on IFRS conversion projects and technical tax accounting issues together with leading the tax audits on a number of KPMG’s largest clients.

Neil joins from Ernst and Young where he was formerly a director in the Tax Accounting, Auditing and Controls group.

John Burns, Head of Tax, Consumer and Industrial Markets, KPMG in the UK commented:  “We are delighted that Neil has joined us at a time when IFRS conversion and other technical tax accounting issues are rapidly moving up so many firms’ agendas.  His knowledge and experience will enhance the service we currently offer to clients in this area.”

Neil Henderson said: “Tax accounting is a risk that corporates cannot ignore.  Its complexity continues to increase given the ever changing tax legislation both in the UK and overseas.  There are also significant changes to existing accounting standards on the horizon (in particular, IAS12, Deferred Tax), and the conversion from US GAAP to IFRS for US listed groups.

“These all present significant challenges to corporates in terms of understanding and calculating the impact of the changes and ensuring that their controls and processes are robust enough to ensure that they continue to get the numbers and presentation correct.

“KPMG’s fully integrated approach, with tax, accounting and technology skills combined, is extremely well-placed to help our existing and future clients meet these challenges head on.”
