Bowen joins Grant Thornton US as National Transfer Pricing leader

David Bowen has joined Grant Thornton as a principal and the firm’s national transfer pricing service-line leader.

As the firm’s transfer pricing leader, Bowen will be responsible for building, driving, and growing Grant Thornton’s national transfer-pricing practice. He will be located in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Previously, Bowen spent several years as a tax partner with Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw working on federal income tax planning, tax controversies, and transfer-pricing matters. He spent four years in the Office of the IRS Associate Chief Counsel (International) – 1.5 as the Chief of Branch 3 of the Advance Pricing Agreement Program, and 2.5 as the Special Counsel to the Associate Chief Counsel (International). Prior to that, he was Counsel in the tax department of the Washington, D.C. offices of Baker & McKenzie, and also was a tax attorney with Dewey Ballantine, LLP. Bowen also is a Professorial Lecturer in Law at George Washington University Law School, where he teaches International Dispute Resolution at the graduate (LL.M) level.

Bowen received his Master of Law in litigation and dispute resolution from George Washington University Law School, his Master of Law in taxation from the University of Florida, his Juris Doctorate from the Marshal-Wythe School of Law at the College William & Mary, and his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Florida Bars.
