Greg Limb has been  appointed Head of Private Client at KPMG UK.

Greg succeeds Dermot Callinan, who has led KPMG’s private client practice in the UK since February 2011 and who will be retiring from the partnership in September 2017 after 26 years with the firm.

Greg has been a partner at KPMG since 2008 and has over 25 years of practical tax experience, specialising in advising individuals, family offices, entrepreneurs and shareholders on their personal tax issues.

Dermot has spent most of his career with KPMG having specialised in private client tax and wealth advice since starting in practice in 1985. Under his leadership, KPMG’s private client advisory practice has grown significantly and now comprises over 150 specialists in personal tax advice and compliance throughout the UK.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike Linter, head of national markets tax at KPMG in the UK, said:

“I am really pleased to appoint Greg to the role; he has a market leading reputation and is well known for building strong lasting relationships with clients from entrepreneurs and family business owners, to private wealthy individuals and trustees. Our award winning private client advisory practice is the clear choice for clients, and I have great confidence in Greg’s ability to lead the UK team to continuing, and greater, success.”

“I would like to thank Dermot for his successful leadership and commitment during his five years at the helm. He is a highly respected KPMG partner who has contributed hugely to the private client practice and the wider firm, especially in the North over the years.”

Greg Limb, incoming UK head of private client, said:

“I am delighted to be taking over the reins of our UK private client advisory practice. This is a time of significant change, not just for UK tax policy but for the regulatory environment around the world. The ever-increasing mobility of people, their capital and their businesses means more and more clients have an international dimension to their affairs.

“KPMG’s private client advisory team has already been recognised by the market for its genuinely international approach, as well as for changing the way private client services are provided by accounting firms in general. Breaking away from the traditional model of employing only accountants and tax advisors, we have expanded the team to include top family office experts thereby enriching our suite of services. I see these as areas of significant potential for the firm and I have no doubt we will continue to lead the way in the provision of these services in the future.

“Dermot has been instrumental in building an exceptionally strong team and I am looking forward to leading and expanding our fantastic group of colleagues as we enter the next phase of growth.”
