Grant Thornton Australia makes up new tax partners: Sosa, Jenkins and Isbell

Grant Thornton Australia has announced the appointment of 11 new partners, two new principals and 24 associate directors to its leadership group.

Three new tax partners have been named:

Lorena Sosa joined Grant Thornton in 2009 from PwC. She sits within the transfer pricing team in Sydney and is a specialist in structuring international tax effective supply chains. She has extensive experience in assisting corporates involved in the technology, retail, e-commerce and financial sectors, plan their transfer pricing and tax optimisation strategies, particularly in scenarios where corporates are looking to expand to overseas markets in the US, Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions.

Lorena has also significant experience dealing with transfer pricing issues associated with the benchmarking, pricing, planning and documentation of financing transactions for corporations and investment funds.

Chris Jenkins is based in the Perth office and joined Grant Thornton in April 2015.

Mr Jenkins is an indirect tax specialist and has held Director level positions with PwC, EY and BDO, working in Australian and Malaysia.

Tom Isbell specialises in Expatriate Tax and Remuneration Planning and works in the Sydney office.

Mr Isbell joined the team in 2009, having spent 8 years working in expatriate tax departments of big four firms in both the UK and Australia. During this time, he has been responsible for managing some of the largest expatriate populations. He advises clients on a range of issues from Employee Share Schemes, Income Tax and Fringe Benefits Tax to Superannuation Guarantee considerations for expatriates and Payroll.
