Cynthia Gausvik joins Blank Rome in Washington DC

Blank Rome  has announced that Cynthia L. Gausvik has joined the Firm as a Partner in the Tax, Benefits, and Private Client group.

Ms. Gausvik advises families and closely held business owners on a broad range of tax, trust, and estate planning matters. She comes to Blank Rome from Reed Smith and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C., office.

Ms. Gausvik counsels high-net worth families and closely held business owners working in a wide range of areas, including real estate development, technology startups, and professional sports. She counsels clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax planning, as well as with structuring business entities and creating business succession plans. Ms. Gausvik regularly applies innovative planning techniques to strategically manage her clients’ assets, including generation-skipping and perpetual dynasty trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable trusts, and family-limited partnerships.

In addition to her work with families and closely held business owners, Ms. Gausvik counsels executives and high-compensation employees of public companies on the transfer tax implications of stock options, as well as other compensation incentives. She also advises on probate administration and the implementation of revocable living trusts, wills, and irrevocable life insurance trusts.
