Maria Menzel joins Ryan (from KPMG) to lead Latin American Indirect Taxes

Ryan has announced that Maria Menzel has joined the management team as a Principal to lead the Firm’s continued international expansion into Central and South America.

Ms. Menzel will drive sustained growth of the Latin American practice and direct the delivery of value-added tax (VAT), international income tax, transfer pricing, and tax technology services to multinational clients operating throughout the region.

Ms. Menzel has more than 25 years of indirect tax experience in Latin America and Europe. Prior to joining Ryan, she launched and managed the successful growth of Latin American practices in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru for KPMG . She also has held indirect tax roles for another major national accounting firm and a Fortune 50 multinational corporation.

Ms. Menzel is an active member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce, arranging for regular economic and cultural events to promote inward investment into Latin America. She is an international author of articles related to indirect tax and lectures on tax for the Master of Business Administration course at ETH Zürich, which is ranked among the top universities in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pedagogy from St. Carlos Grammar School in Argentina and studied Law at the University of Belgrano in Argentina.
