Peter Blessing joins KPMG as Head of Cross Border Transactions within the National Tax Group

Peter Blessing, formerly a tax partner with Shearman & Sterling LLP, moved to KPMG in March to join their National Tax Group.

His title will be Head of Cross Border Transactions.

Mr. Blessing has served as chair of the New York State Bar Assn Tax Section (2010) and of the International Bar Association Taxes Committee (2010-11). He has authored numerous articles and texts on taxation, including a treatise on US income tax treaties. Most recently, he served as the editor and a co-author of “Tax Planning for International Mergers, Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Restructurings” published by Kluwer Law International in 2012.

Mr. Blessing graduated from Princeton University, Columbia Law School and New York University School of Law (LLM Taxation).
