Mark E Haranzo joins Withers Bergman as a Tax Partner in the Trusts & Estates Group
Withers Bergman LLP announced today that prominent trusts and estates attorney Mark E. Haranzo has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner.
Mr. Haranzo has twenty years of experience in the trusts and estates field representing a high–net-worth clientele in both the U.S. and abroad. Although an American who advises primarily on U.S. law, he is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and represents an important clientele there — a natural fit for Withers. He is also admitted to practice in the states of New York, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Most recently, Mr. Haranzo was a partner with the law firm of Wiggin and Dana LLP.
Regarding the arrival of Mr. Haranzo to the firm’s New York office, U.S. Regional Senior Partner Ivan A. Sacks commented, “We’re delighted to welcome Mark to the firm. Mr. Haranzo lectures and writes extensively on trusts and estates law related issues, and is the co-author of a three-volume practice guide, Harris 6th Edition, New York Estates, published by WestGroup. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Haranzo has also been recognized for his accomplishment in a number of surveys and is currently listed as a “SuperLawyer” in both Connecticut and New York.
Mr. Haranzo is an active advisor to a number of charitable organizations. Among other posts, he serves as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Museum of Britain.
Mr. Haranzo’s addition to Withers Bergman, which is a finalist for a 2012 Private Asset Management (PAM) Award for best private client law firm, comes on the heels of other recent hires by the firm and the build-out of more office space in New York to accommodate its strong growth. The firm currently has nine offices around the world, and is considered the largest in the private client space.
