Senior Tax Partner Roger Bramwell leaves Ernst & Young South Africa to join Rödl & Partner in Johannesburg

Renowned South African tax expert Roger Bramwell (65) joined the tax department of Rödl & Partner in Johannesburg, South Africa in July 2011 after leaving Ernst & Young South Africa, where he had practiced since 1984.

He was at this stage a senior tax partner. Bramwell is one of the most respected tax specialists in South Africa. The move is part of a strategic expansion plan for the advisory practice at Rödl & Partner in Southern Africa. The leading German firm with 86 offices worldwide is aimed to further grow their cross-border accountancy and consulting services for German and other European investors also in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Roger Bramwell, in his previous years, had consulted with leading international corporations such as AngloGold Ashanti, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Mitsubishi. Earlier in his career he had been with the financial department at Rand Mines and was a manager of the tax department at Hoechst Südafrika.

At Rödl & Partner he will be primarily advising large European corporate clients with their Southern African investments, mainly focusing on issues of cross-border tax planning, re-structuring and corporate transactions.
