[private]Bill Hogan has been appointed director of taxation for Baker Tilly International, the global accountancy network, effective 1 April 2009.
Former chair of Baker Tilly International’s International Tax Steering Committee, and former partner in Baker Tilly, the network’s UK member firm, Hogan has been closely involved with the co-ordination of tax services within Baker Tilly International.
Global tax services across the network generated combined revenue of US$710m in 2008, 24% of the network’s total combined revenue worldwide.
Hogan believes that tax will continue to be one of the focus points for future growth. “Globalisation is altering the tax landscape, increasing the need for tax compliance, reporting and planning. As a result, the tax environment is becoming increasingly sophisticated.
“Tax services are a core part of the network’s business and my priority is to continue to build our global capability, focusing on the integrated delivery of our services across geographies and throughout the tax lifecycle of planning, provision and compliance.”
Geoff Barnes, CEO and president of Baker Tilly International, said, “I am delighted to welcome Bill to the headquarters team and look forward to working with him as we continue to implement our global strategy for tax services”.[/private]
